The MongolZ qualify for Shanghai Major Elimination Stage

GamerLegion were no match for the Mongolian squad in the 2-0 series.

The MongolZ are through to the Elimination Stage in China

The MongolZ have secured a spot at the Perfect World Shanghai Major’s Elimination Stage with a 2-0 victory over GamerLegion.

The Erik “ztr” Gustafsson-led squad was no match for The MongolZ, who cruised to victory allowing only 7 rounds on both of the maps played.

The Swedish in-game leader didn’t have much time to set up a plan, however, as GamerLegion went into the attacking sides with 4-8 and 2-10 deficits on both maps and lost both pistol rounds.

This victory puts another tally in the W column for Asian CS after Rare Atom staved off elimination with a victory over fnatic, as The MongolZ secured representation in the Elimination Stage for the Asia region.

The series kicked off on Mirage, where The MongolZ had GamerLegion on the backfoot since the start with Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren’s squad setting the pace and denying any reactive play in an 8-4 half.

ztr staved off “Zero T Rounds” on the attack, but the Europeans only got to tally one before losing the first map 13-5.

The MongolZ got to be the active side once again as they picked the preferred T side on Anubis. A general collapse by GamerLegion and dominating plays by The MongolZ rolled out the red carpet to the Elimination Stage.

With exception of a small blunder early on in which Ayush “mzinho” Batbold lost the bomb in Connector and Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold failed to plant it in time, The MongolZ cleared every hurdle with a resounding 13-2 scoreline.

GamerLegion play Passion UA next in the 2-1 pool for another shot at qualification, while The MongolZ get to take a breather until the end of the Opening Stage.
