Shanghai Major playoff bracket set

Seven top ten teams remain in the running for the Major title.

Can The MongolZ continue their fairytale run?

The Perfect World Shanghai Major playoff bracket has been set after the conclusion of the Elimination Stage, where reigning champions Natus Vincere ended their title defense.

Just eight more teams remain in the running for the trophy, seven of which reside in the top 10 of the world rankings, with Liquid the only team outside that benchmark.

The playoffs get underway on Thursday, when The MongolZ will take on MOUZ in the first quarter-final. The Mongolian squad is yet to lose in Shanghai and sports a 13-match win streak, and has already defeated Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and company in the Elimination Stage’s 1-0 pool.

Spirit will then take on Liquid as Danil “donk” Kryshkovets aims to build on his 1.55-rated performance and stake his claim for the best player in the world, with the winner of that match taking on the victor of The MongolZ vs. MOUZ.

The other side of the bracket will see G2 take on HEROIC. The latter ended Natus Vincere’s title defense in an impressive victory on Sunday, while G2 comfortably dispatched FaZe in the 2-1 pool.

The final quarter-final is set to be contested between Vitality and FaZe, where Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s troops aim to upset the apple cart and end an otherwise lackluster season on a high.

The full playoff bracket is as follows:
