The 17-year-old has broken a seven year old record and has also become the highest-rated Major MVP with a 1.49 rating.
Danil “donk” Kryshkovets was named Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 MVP after Spirit’s 2-1 victory over FaZe in the grand final.
The 17-year-old phenom has become the youngest-ever Major champion and MVP at 17 years and 324 days, breaking both records which were set by Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye at the ELEAGUE Major in 2017 (18 years and 277 days).
This is donk’s first Major MVP, which he adds to a cabinet alongside five more individual accolades — four from 2024, his first full year of play and officially his rookie year —, including one from IEM Katowice.
donk did so with a lights-out campaign in which he also become the highest-rated Major MVP (Elimination Stage and Playoffs) with a 1.49 rating, beating out Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s 1.47 at PGL Stockholm.
The young star only had one map with a negative rating across Spirit’s 14 played in Shanghai, the 7-13 loss to MOUZ on Nuke. His peak, on the other hand, came in the the grand final’s decider map against FaZe, where 30 kills in regulation earned him a 1.98.
donk was notable in all of his team’s victories, but was particularly good in getting Spirit over the finish line with a 1.67 in the grand final.
When looking at all 14 maps, he ended the tournament leading in rating (1.49), KDD (+97), DPR (101.4), KPR (0.99), total kills (289; tied with Robin “ropz” Kool), headshots (177), headshots per round (0.60), and impact rating (1.75).
He was also among the highest in damage difference per round (+25.9; 2nd), 1+ kill rounds (56.7%; 2nd), total assists (69; 5th), KAST (78.2%; 5th), and total opening kills (45; 3rd, tied with Guy “NertZ” Iluz).
To put a cherry on his spectacular showing, donk broke the record of most aces at a Major, with four — beating Egor “flamie” Vasilyev’s three from IEM Katowice 2019 —, which also ties s1mple’s record of four at a Big Event from IEM Cologne 2021.
