ESL and BLAST reveal 2027 event calendar

ESL also revealed Poland as the location for their first 2026 event.

BLAST is expected to host the first big tournament of 2027

ESL and BLAST have announced their tournament schedules for 2027, with ESL also revealing Poland as the location for their first tournament of 2026, set to be held from Jan 28-Feb 8.

ESL’s first 2026 event will be played in two stages and has curiously not been named IEM Katowice, something unusual for such a long-standing event in the calendar.

When asked whether ESL is moving away from Katowice from 2026, ESL Director of Game Ecosystems for Counter-Strike, Marc Winther, commented the following:

“We usually only announce the exact city and venue until closer to the event, however in order to be compliant with the new requirements as set out by Valve, we’re releasing the country now which should be seen as the minimum requirement.”

ESL’s 2027 calendar will repeat their “regular timings throughout the year,” and will stay largely the same to what we have been used to from the tournament organizer.

Shortly after ESL’s announcement, BLAST also came out with their own roadmap for 2027 events. The tournament organizer will once again host six events, with 2027 now set to three Open and one Rivals event as opposed to two each in previous years.
