Video Settings

Setting Suggestion:

-A new Settings Suggestion popup has been added, which now suggests that you use your monitor’s maximum refresh rate if your monitor’s refresh rate is set lower than the maximum refresh rate at which it launches.

-A new Settings Suggestion popup has been added that will pop up if N VIDIA G-Sync is enabled but V-Sync and/or N VIDIA Reflex is not. It is usually recommended to enable all three settings together when available.

-Please note that applying these settings will limit your frame rate to your monitor’s refresh rate or slightly below it, which is usually the combination of settings for the smoothest display and lowest input latency. Technical details are detailed at

-The Main Menu Background and Item View Background settings have been removed from the Video Settings page. These settings still exist on the Main Menu and Item View pages, respectively.

The ‘Refresh Rate’ setting now shows the current refresh rate of the monitor in windowed and full-screen windowed modes.

-Removed the ‘Laptop Power Save’ setting, which was never actually configured in newer versions of CS.

-Added ‘Frame Pacing’ to the Advanced Video Settings page.

-Added an ‘NVIDIA G-Sync’ line to the ‘Frame Pacing’ section, which tells you if G-Sync is active with your current display settings. This line may be hidden if you are using the Vulkan renderer, or if you are not using an NVIDIA graphics card.

-Increased the default setting of ‘Maximum FPS in menu’ from 120 FPS to 200 FPS.

-Added ‘Game_max_FPS’ and ‘Menu_max_FPS’ to the frame rate section. They control fps_max and fps_max_ui convars respectively.

-Increased the ‘Menu Max FPS’ default setting from 120 FPS to 200 FPS.

-Advanced video visual previews now use game max FPS instead of menu max FPS.
