MIBR are the third Brazilian team to qualify for the Major’s Elimination Stage.

MIBR passed the decider match test with flying colors, beating FlyQuest decidedly in two maps to qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major’s Elimination Stage.
This victory puts the André “drop” Abreu-led squad in the Elimination Stage alongside FURIA and paiN, who qualified with 3-1 records, making this the second time that three Brazilian teams reach the top 16 at a Valve-sponsored event after the Major in Copenhagen.
MIBR do so as the second-highest rated team in the Opening Stage, with a collective 1.18 and Felipe “insani” Yuji trailing only four The MongolZ players in the individual leaderboard with a 1.45 in eight maps played.
After falling to the 1-2 pool following the best-of-one rounds, MIBR eliminated local side Rare Atom before drubbing FlyQuest for a spot at the Elimination Stage. The Australians’ run in Shanghai ended in heartbreak after a 2-0 start could not be converted into qualification after three attempts.
The decider series was never close. MIBR were in charge from the get-go on their Nuke pick, going 5-0 before seven back-and-forth rounds made it 8-4 at the half. The Brazilians then won the CT pistol and won the side cleanly to claim their map pick 13-4.
Inferno was equally tilted towards the Brazilian side. Save for a three-round streak by FlyQuest in the first half, MIBR dominated throughout, leading 8-4 at the switch once again.
MIBR made it four out of four in pistol rounds on the T side of Inferno and once again shut down FlyQuest, who only managed to get in a single round on the defense, to win 13-5 and secure their spot in the Major’s next stage.
