The MongolZ outlast MOUZ in OT to join 2-0 pool

Spirit beat Wildcard to recover from an opening loss on the B stream.

The MongolZ now have a 12-match win streak

The MongolZ became the second name to join the 2-0 pool after an overtime win against MOUZ on Mirage, while Spirit sent Wildcard down to their last tournament life in Shanghai.

The 1-0 match between MOUZ and The MongolZ delivered in spades, as neither team could secure the victory in regulation. The Mongolian squad recovered from a slow start to take a 10-5 lead but was unable to close it out and even needed Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold’s 1v2 clutch to stay alive and bring the game back to OT.

In added time, however, The MongolZ shifted into a higher gear and took four out of five rounds to move themselves just one map away from the Major playoffs.

On the B stream, Spirit put their Major campaign back on track with a comfortable 13-6 victory against Wildcard on Ancient.

While the first half was a cagey affair that went the way of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets and company (7-5), Wildcard didn’t show enough on the CT side to hold on in the game and thus joined the 0-2 pool after the first day of action.

The Elimination Stage current standings are as follows:
